How can you expect an audience to connect to your brand if it’s confusing or untrustworthy? The people that are genuinely attracted and interested in your brand will hear you and remember you for what you are. Showing up consistently in a way that is clearly you across all channels is the best way to establish who you are to a follower.

This can provide invaluable insight into the reception of new product offerings or where you stand during a crisis.
This direct connection with your audience also gives your brand an opportunity to forge a relationship with consumers and create brand loyalty. By creating content that allows followers to engage with your account, like quizzes or this or that activities in stories, you create a more invested audience and present a closer relationship. It can even be as simple as responding to tags in comments. If your audience feels good and like your brand genuinely cares about them, you’ll have a loyalty that is unmatched.
People also love to see brands interact with each other! Don’t be afraid to cheer on another brand or even joke around with them as long as it fits into your brand voice to do so.
Social media changes frequently, so in order to stay relevant it’s best to adjust your day-to-day strategy to meet the pace of some trends. Especially on a platform like TikTok or Instagram, participating in a trend can help boost visibility and engagement. In the same vein, adjusting your posts to react appropriately to current events is important. You never want to be caught unaware that your post was actually incredibly insensitive due to timing when you scheduled it before a major world event.
However, you do not have to jump on every trend. As long as you’re up to date on what is trending and current events, you should select what to adjust to based on what fits your brand. If a trend doesn’t work for you, don’t worry about it, but if it does, it can earn you some serious spotlight.
The guiding principle to remember is that social media is a valuable tool to build trust with your audience. Trust in your brand through consistent behavior, showing up through engagement and presence in pop culture and being respectful is a resource that gives your brand credibility and loyalty. Gaining and maintaining a presence on social media is not an overnight task. It takes a dedicated strategy and consistently showing up to build trust and rapport with your audience.
